Plan annual costs and replacement funding
Allocate category budgets by month, compare recorded spending and forecast expected costs, and keep replacement funding estimates separate from money held in accounts.
How to use it
- Open Home Costs, then Annual budgets and replacement reserves. Choose a year and save twelve category allocations, or distribute an annual amount across months.
- Review actual, estimated, previous-year and forecast amounts. Forecasts use saved allocations, recurring expectations and dated active project commitments. Unknown dates and changed source associations require review.
- Add a recurring obligation with an expected amount, frequency and first date. Associate an existing recorded cost with one occurrence after reviewing its description, date, amount and source. This removes that expected occurrence without creating another expense or payment.
- Review possible duplicate costs. Equal amounts and issuers are suggestions only. Explicitly select the extra and canonical recorded sources, explain the decision and confirm. Original records remain saved, and restoration counts the extra cost again. Correct an extra active invoice before reconciling its cost.
- Plan a replacement reserve using an equipment estimate, remaining months and your assumptions. Zero remaining months means due now. Estimates are separate from actual savings, spending and budget allocations.
- Review equipment/project breakdowns and download the annual category CSV. Invoice totals and recorded payments remain separate from costs. A cost linked to multiple projects can appear under each project and must not be added again to household totals.
- If a save is interrupted, restore its draft and retry unchanged. If another device changes the plan, compare the current plan before discarding your preserved review. Household viewers can inspect plans but cannot change them.
Available with core home records on all plans. Record, storage and processing allowances apply; household roles determine editing access.
