Preview equipment with sample data
Explore realistic equipment scenarios without authorizing a manufacturer or changing your home records.
How to use it
- Open Connected Services, an equipment/appliance detail record, or a specialist Connected Telemetry section. Choose Preview with Sample Data.
- Check the persistent Preview Mode — Simulated Equipment Data label. The sample manufacturer, timestamps, readings and faults do not describe your actual equipment.
- Choose a sample condition: normal, fault, offline, delayed or missing. Advance the sample clock by two hours to explore a controlled change; values are deterministic, not a live feed. Example schedules use UTC.
- Choose Inspect to explore metrics, history windows and the observation table. Sample metrics illustrate the interface and are not a compatibility list for the selected manufacturer.
- Explore simulated connection setup to select a category/provider, review requirements, acknowledge simulated authorization, discover a fictional device and associate a fictional record. No credential is requested and nothing is saved to your household.
- Choose Exit sample preview to return to real records. Reset sample scenario restores the controlled sample clock/condition; leaving preview discards sample choices. Preview never stores operational readings or triggers notifications, maintenance or device commands.
Preview is available on every plan, including Free. It neither grants nor consumes live monitoring entitlement and does not bypass the real connection permissions.
