Getting Started

Import an existing home from documents and photos

Review rooms, equipment, maintenance, purchases, warranty details and contractor contacts, then add the selected records together.

How to use it

  1. Select the destination home and open Import an existing home from Guided setup, Inventory, or Property Map. Start a new import; editing access is required.
  2. Choose a source type and upload PDFs, images or readable text files, select a saved original, or paste listing/inspection text. Originals are retained in Documents. An import supports up to ten sources of 10 MB each and 200 suggestions; each reading supports up to 20 pages and 80,000 characters. Warnings identify partial or unreadable sources. Export Office documents to PDF first.
  3. Compare each suggestion with its source excerpt. Choose Add new, Link existing, Reject, or Defer for later review. Correct the type, name, identifiers, quantity, condition, dates and recorded value. Include or link any suggested room or equipment used by another record. You can add missing records manually.
  4. Resolve possible duplicates by linking to a saved record or another included suggestion, skipping, or explicitly confirming a separate record. Linking preserves existing details and attaches the source. Use Refresh duplicate checks if another household member added records.
  5. Save draft to resume later. Review the summary and confirm the selected records, then choose Import reviewed records. The complete record transaction rolls back on failure; existing plan limits still apply. If the response is interrupted, reopen the saved import to recover its result before starting another import.
  6. Open the imported rooms, inventory, systems, maintenance, purchases or providers, review equipment coverage, or place records on your Property Map. Missing home details appear in Home setup. Import does not infer floorplan geometry, verify equipment condition, activate device monitoring, or manufacture dates or maintenance severity. Configured photo recognition uses the existing document AI allowance; text suggestions and manual review remain available without it.

Available with core home records on all plans. Record, storage and processing allowances apply; household roles determine editing access.
